Offenbach a.M., Stadthalle Offenbach
November 25, 1997 Offenbach, Stadthalle

here's some stuff about the Faith No More Offenbach show nov 25, 1997. I arrived there at 8 something and I have to say that the venue was just amazing. It was a hall where the major would hold a town meeting. wooden floor. stairs and seats in the back with excellent view to the stage which was is the middle of the long side of the rectangular venue.

i grabbed a seat to watch the two opening bands. the first one was from manchester.. Eskimo ..something, I forgot the name they were pretty much okay. they had the same line up as fnm and didn't try to sound too rock'ish so that made it more accessible for me. one song had a riff which I thought I heard at a praxis show. The second band Radish sounded too much like a Nirvana, Silverchair, Green Day etc.. rip off. They were three guys and they were all singing besides playing their instruments. During the opening band I figured that the sound was pretty amazing from where I was sitting so I stayed up there for the FNM show as well.

they opened with Mindight Cowboy and I was quite happy when I realized that this one was not going to be a second Munich show with the music being too loud. the second was be Aggressive which probably made my evening. I didn't like the midnight cowboy/ashes to ashes order in munich. after that there was midlife crisis. probably the perfect start for the show. three songs off album of the year followed. before last cup they asked where everyone was from and how many people saw the band before and for how many of us it was the first time. Also there was some talk about Offenbach and the next big city (frankfurt) and who could drink more beer. mike asked some guy with an Exodus shirt but he kept looking down and pretending that mike wasn't talking to him. KFAD was outstanding as it always is. the ending differs from show to show. the end of epic had teh Aqua song adlib, which many people recognized. tehy all started to laugh and applauded. right before mouth to mouth they asked us whetehr we would want an Arabian song or a Whitney Houston song. the third option was Backstreet boys, Bill played a couple of notes on bass and roddy added the vocals. Again especially the girls this time at the show started to cheer. Mike did some shadow-boxing at the end of just a man right before the "it's burning me' part. that was pretty fun to watch. his movements and the sound from teh band was synchronized pretty well, so it seemed like something attacked mike and he ducked and hit back.

here's the setlist (not completely in order)
