In Faith, Plenty More

Extraordinary! Did you realise that Faith No More has been together for 18 years?! Well, there you go. Then again, it's the core members - Roddy Bottum, Mike Bordin and Billy Gould - that have been together that long, in the eye of the hurricane as members and musical tastes have swirled around them. And what an unlikely teaming that trio was - a classically trained piano playing rubber fetishist (Bottum), a bass playing punk prankster (Gould), and a polyrythmic jazz-influenced drummer (Bordin) -but somehow, when they decied to team up in 1982 in the California Bay area they lived in, it seemed to work. Fronted by the irrespressible Mike Patton on vocals and latest recruit, John Hudson, on guitar, Faith No More now present the worl with their sixth studio album, sneakily titled Album of the Year (polydor), a record of "wild admonishments, diseased prayers, dark threats and general head-spinning soul-blazing scenarios". Expect an announcement soon of an Australian tour later in the year.
