Kerrangs Top 100 1995

Number 15: Faith No More
'King For A Day, Fool For A Lifetime'
(London)
THE FACTS: The San Franciscan weirdos' fifth album; crucially, their first without cartoon metal guitarist Jim Martin.
THE VIBE: Still bizzarely eclectic but overall, a more accesible album than its precedor, the wacky 'Angel Dust'.
RELEASED: March 11
COOLEST TRACKS: 'Evidence', 'Ricochet', 'Digging The Grave'
KERRANG! SAYS: "'King For A Day' is a work of twisted genious."
STRANGE BUT TRUE: Replacing Jim Martin on guitar for this album was Trey Spruance, also a member of FNM singer Mike Patton's side-project band Mr Bungle. But once the album was finished, Spruance told the band he couldn't be arsed to go on tour. Enter ex-FNM roadie Dean Menta. Confused? Hey, that's Faith No More for you.
