Drummer Mike Bordin has denied that Faith No More were dumped from the European Monsters Of Rock after certain comments allegedly made by Mike Patton towards other bands on he bill.
"There were two shows originally booked," Bordin told Hot Metal News. "and at the first show in Bologna, Italy, there were some good-natured jokes going on on the stage. Mike [Patton] makes jokes, he has a loose mouth, and he likes to have fun. I respect that a lot more than if he says 'this is the greatest show we've ever done in our lives and you're the best crowd', which is pretty much usually a bunch of bullshit.
"Anyway, what he said that night, some people took the wrong way. We discussed the situation between the parties that were concerned, and we ended up doing the second show anyway - we were only booked to do two shows and we did them.
"We actually saw members of those two bands involved in that little conflict [Poison and Whitesnake] two days later and sat around and talked.
"It was heavy. It was touch and go for a while, and it was one situation that we would really rather not have had happen, but that's the way it goes."
