This show ended up getting a great deal of local media coverage, since Faith No More was scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m. (with doors open at 1:30 p.m.), and the show was on a school day (Friday). Lots and lots of high school kids skipped their afternoon classes to attend this show, and the news was making a big deal about the show starting so early. (As it ended, FNM came out around 4:40 or so...just in time for them to be playing in the background of the live newscasts from the Astrodome.

As far as the show, it was pretty uneventful (except for the fact that the band on stage was Faith No More!!) I don't remember Mike saying anything to the crowd, no weird antics, stage diving, set-climbing or anything. They just came out, played and left.

With the exception of about half a dozen fans (in the front section where I was anyway), most of the crowd wasn't overly into the show, but no one was hostile. People applauded and cheered, but not too many people knew all the songs. The crowd really liked Epic though. (I suppose I should mention that simultaneously with the FNM show, several girls in the audience decided to have a breast-flashing contest, so many male audience members were not really paying too much attention to the band.) I also remember this one girl running around asking everyone what the lead singer's name was (because he's just so fine...) and not too many people knew.
