The opening acts were Hells Kitchen NYC and Circus of Power who both sucked. The show began with Patton dressed in a yellow raincoat and round nerd glasses bouncing about with an umbrella to "From Out Of Nowhere". At various points in the set he swung upside down from the lighting rig, dove into the pit, gave out pizza and accused a VERY responsive audience of being indifferent, going as far as to say that if it was Pretty Boy Floyd or Manowar on the stage, we would've been much more into it. He kept talking about Manowar after that, mentioning that no other band was "Fighting the World". The set list was a pretty straight forward "Real Thing" tour set.

The audience was frighteningly mixed by 1990 standards. It was the first time I'd ever seen hardcore guys with well developed abs at the same show as glam types and little girls. At the time rock audiences still hated rap and keyboards and NO ONE was moshing in front of an MTV band. It was complete culture shock.
