During 'Evidence' Mike tells us about his trip to the dentist. Later on, you hear him say 'What' following a big cheer. What actually happened was that someone threw a t-shirt up and it landed right on his shoulder. When this happened everyone cheered so he said 'What?'
Before 'Caralho Voador' on both nights I noted Mike squating down to set the drum machine going for the song.
At the climatic ending of 'Just A Man', Mike ran to each side of the stage on did a point. Hard to explain, but that is what he did. He'd point in time with Puffy's drum beat and had a very excited look on his face with each point. After the song, he threw the mike in the crowd which everyone scrambled for.
When FNM returned to the stage for their first encore, Mike said something which I can't really remember but it eventuated to him asking 'What's your name?' as he looked at someone directly in the middle, but judging from where he was looking, a little back from the front of the crowd. The guy kept repeating his name, Mike sais 'What? Huh? Ronald? Ro...? Rowan!' then as 'Take This Bottle' started he said 'This song is for Rowan'.
Prior to 'Back For Good'. Mike looked to (from his position) just right of the centre of the front row (just missed me! D'oh!) and asked 'Has anyone had classical voice training?' a few calls out of 'Yes' and so forth followed. He said 'You have? Can you sing Take That?' at which point he began to sing and few "Fuck off"s could be heard from behind me. Then they continued into 'I Started A Joke' as usual.
So that is all the talking parts I can remember. On the tape he says somewhere, I think after 'Be Aggressive' he said 'That was heaps good. HEAPS!' It is my belief that he said that after being in Sydney cos there they always say 'heaps' in front of things like 'It was heaps messy' or, 'it was heaps bad' or even, 'it was heaps good' so Mike must have been under the impression that all Aussies say that cos he sounded like he was taking the piss out of us when really he wasn't cos we don't say that down in Victoria!
Other than that, I recall waiting desperately to hear 'you, can't get away!' on 'Surprise! You're Dead!' as that is my fave part and it had been fucked up by a dumb crowd surfer who came down on my head at that very moment on the sat night, and then Mike didn't even sing it right on the Monday night. I'll got mental if I ever find that moron who wrecked it on the first night.
