... these pictures here are all about 150K big. but they're neat! Thanks to Michael McClintock.

well, okay, i admit... it was four years ago, so i can't for the life of me remember the playlist, but i guess that's not my fault...

well, the day itself i remember like it was yesterday...
you see.. it was just four days before my 15th birthday, i had been into faith no more since 1989, and not even because of EPIC... (yep, it was SURPRISE, YOU'RE DEAD that gave me the bug!), but being a very young age (ummm... 10 or 11 i think...) i was unable to go to their first NZ show...

but anyway, i'm drifting...
okay... well, there was a signing that morning, and i remember that i was the very first person in the store, and i waited, and i waited, and i waited, and still, for hours i was the only person... then people started to slowly but surely trickle in, and there were heaps of us in there, and eventually the store managers/desk jockeys, said to us, "right we're going to line you all up in a HORSESHOE shape, and me being dedicated, i was right in the middle of the area in front of the counter... BUT, the horseshoe shape was such that the beginning and the end of the line MET, and when they split it, i was the guy NEXT to the guy at the front, and thus, i was plonked RIGHT ON THE FREAKING END OF THE LINE!!!! GAH!!! i was heavily disappointed with this, but it turned out fine in the end...

as for the the actual signing? well, there were banners on the walls that were huge wall-size posters of the meat photo from ANGEL DUST, and at the bottom there was a legend that said: "MEAT FAITH NO MORE", quite funny indeed...

Video Croissant was playing on the tv monitors, and then... oh yes, that magical sentence... "HEY, IT'S BILLY GOULD!!!" at least 200 people, all crammed in this tiny little shop, all craning to look at the greatest band to ever grace this world...
they walked in, they stood up the front, and proceeded to sign...
and here was Mike... he must've just had his hair cut, for oh yes, it was King For A Day-ish... of course at that point i wasn't to know it...

they seemed somewhat tired, perhaps grumpy, with the exception of the friendly happy chappy, Mike Bordin... Roddy sort of had a fixed sneer... when i gave him my album cover to sign, he signed and sort of pushed it aside onto the counter, and i had to reach across to get it...

Patton... well, he was great...
Jim? hairiest bastard i've ever personally laid eyes on... a truly juxtaposing character... wonderful guy, to meet at a glimpse, however, he made light conversation... and Billy? well, Billy was the freindly, gracious, and pretty darn cool all right!

that's about all of the signing...

the concert itself, at this point, is mosly just a haze... there was one punk guy who had a great big leather arm band on, and it had these huge nails poking out of it, the entire length of his forearm... wouldn't have wanted to be standing next to him!... i remember at one point someone must've pulled the finger to the band, and Roddy said... "somebody just did this to me!!" (gesturing) "what do you think it means??!" then Mike said "I think it means... fuck you!!!" Roddy: "Wow, I came to New Zealand and i learnt something new!!! fuck you!!"

and then, both gesturing, they started to chant, "fuck you!!! fuck you!!! fuck you!!!" to the crowd, AND THEY WENT ABSOLUTELY BESERK!!!! a skinhead in front of me started to thrash about uncontrollably, and his shaved head bashed into my open eye, feeling much like sandpaper...
i had bruises for about a MONTH afterwards...

yep, that's my big concert... it's still number one, even after this time... i just wish i could remember it better, that's all...
