We got to the venue (me and my friend) at about 5:30. The sport complex is called Lushniki and the place where they played was actually an ice hockey field. (The show started at six btw) We got this real shit place, (it was far away from the stage and we had to sit down) but we were happy to see Faith No More anyway.
The first of the three support bands (they were all Russian) was called Tequila Jazz. They were actually pretty good although the singer sucked. They played for about half an hour and then left.
The second band was called Green Gray. THEY UTTERLY SUCKED!!!!! Their music was kind of techno-rave shit. They had this song called "Motherfucker" and the singer, apart from being really proud of knowing one word in English, he was singing it with this really strong Russian accent, which was quite funny.
The third band was called "Naive" and they played punk. They were not that bad. They left after 20-25 minutes. At 8:35 exactly, Faith No More came out. Fortunately, we could get a bit closer to the pit. I don't know the right order of the songs but here they are:
- Midnight Cowboy
- Ashes To Ashes
- Midlife Crisis
- The Gentle Art Of Making Enemies
- Naked In Front Of The Computer
- Introduce Yourself
- Last Cup Of Sorrow
- King For A Day
- We Care A Lot
- Land Of Sunshine
- Just A Man
- Cover song (I don't know what it was called but I'm sure I heard it
- Ugly In The Morning
Somewhere in the middle of the show, Mike Patton stood up on an amp and while he was talking to the crowd, he fell off it and went: "Oh, shit!!!" Another funny part of the show was when right after a song a couple of roadies came up on stage to fix some cables and Patton told them: "Get the fuck outta here!!!" "Fuck off!!!" "Leave me alone!!!" Everyone was just laughing!!!
Something I found pretty strange was that instead of Jon playing the solo for Land Of Sunshine, Patton sang it. Weird, don't you think? The band live are excellent; the sound was great and the new guitar player fits in pefectly, although they didn't play some very good songs from other albums like Evidence, Caffeine, Digging The Grave, Surprise! You're Dead! or Ricochet but if the band played all the good songs they have, they would go on forever!!!!! They really should drop by Moscow again sometime soon......
